Getting Started
Installation
Screenshot Master is available exclusively on the Mac App Store.
- Open the Mac App Store
- Click "Get" to install
- Launch the app from your Applications folder
Create a New Project
When you first open Screenshot Master, you'll see the welcome screen with two options:
- Create New project (
Cmd+N) — start a fresh project - Open Existing Project (
Cmd+O) — reopen a previous.smrfile
Your recent projects are listed on the right side for quick access.
Add Screenshots
Once your project is created, you'll see an empty canvas. From here you can:
- Drag & drop one or more app screenshots (6.9" or 6.5" size) directly onto the canvas — Screenshot Master will create a screenshot entry for each image
- Click "+" to add an empty screenshot that you'll fill with assets later
- Explore templates to start from a pre-made design
You can drag up to 10 images at once.
Edit Text
Each screenshot can have a title and a subtitle. To edit them:
- Double-click on any text block in the canvas to enter editing mode
- Type your text (100 characters max per field)
- Use the right panel to customize font, weight, size, color, outline, and highlight
You can highlight a word by wrapping it in brackets: [keyword] — it will be rendered with the highlight color you pick in the inspector.
Translate
Screenshot Master supports 43 App Store locales. To localize your screenshots:
- Add locales from the translation manager (Open button in the right panel)
- Fill in your default locale text for all screenshots
- Click "Translate all" to auto-translate every screenshot into all your locales at once
You can also translate manually per screenshot and per locale.
Preview
Before exporting, preview how your screenshots will look:
- Full size — view all screenshots at actual resolution across all formats and locales
- App Store Search — see how the first 3 screenshots appear in search results (light & dark mode)
- App Store Product Page — see how your full set looks on the product page
Hit the Preview button in the bottom-right export bar, or press Cmd+P.
Export
When you're ready, you have two options:
Export to disk
Click Export and choose a format:
- Individual formats: 6.9" iPhone, 6.7" iPhone, 6.5" iPhone, 5.5" iPhone, iPad, Android Phone
- All formats at once
Screenshots are saved as JPG files organized by locale and format.
Upload to App Store Connect
Click Upload to App Store to push your screenshots directly to App Store Connect — the order of your screenshots is preserved. You'll need to configure your App Store Connect credentials first (API key stored in Keychain).
You can also upload to Product Page Experimentation for A/B testing different screenshot sets.
